Happy Easter!

We had a great Easter.  We spent it with Nana and Grampa.  The kids woke up to some small Easter baskets at our house and were really excited about that.  And then the grandparents hid all these Easter eggs in their backyard, so in the afternoon we went over there and the kids had so much fun finding eggs.  It was just a great day celebrating our Savior and being with family.

Family

Here are some family photos!

And then it was summer...

At least that is what it feels like here.  The weather has been crazy hot and it's only April.  I'm hoping it will cool down and that this isn't an early indicator of a very hot summer to come.

We've been enjoying the past few weeks with Brad's family.  Tim, Rachel and Joy have been here and this past weekend Jared and Laura came down to visit also.  The kids have been eating up "relative" time...especially cousin Joy time.  They can't get enough.  So sadly, today is the last day as they head out of Bakoland.  :(  We are just so grateful for the time we've been able to spend with them.

Here are some pics.

Hello April

Last week there was a bit of excitement at our house as Mia graduated from Physical Therapy!  After almost 6 years, she has reached completion of that part of her journey.  The requirements for her graduating deal with her balance, her ability to go up and down stairs, her ability to jump and overall strength.  This is such great news, she has been working so hard and we were just so excited for her.  It's hard to believe how God has transformed her life over the past 6 years.  I remember starting physical therapy and asking her therapist, is she going to crawl?  Is she going to walk?  And she kept telling me...she will do it Lisa, just give her time.  Praise God for this miracle!

We still have other therapy in the bag, we still get Occupational Therapy, which deals with fine motor skills.  Because of her left sided weakness, she struggles with many tasks that require two hands, but we continue to see improvement and Praise God for that!

She will also continue at MARE which is an overall therapy.  They work on physical, occupational and speech with her.  So, she will keep on riding horses for continued strength and mobility improvements.

And of course, down the road if we notice a lag in her physical development, we can always go back to PT, but for now, it is a nice reprieve.

She has come a long way and it is only by the grace of God and His healing power that she is where she is.  Thank you Lord for our little miracle!
