Kindergarten?!

I can't believe it's time to start thinking about kindergarten! Mia had her kindergarten physical on Monday. She's doing great and was super brave getting her TB test done, a booster shot, and an iron check. We are still sorting out what kindergarten will look like next year for her, we need to have an IEP review and after that I think we'll have more clarity on what our options are and what is best for her. We've been enjoying the beautiful spring weather. There is just something about fresh air and sunshine that is good for the soul. We ended up borrowing a swing from a friend and Asher loves it. Go figure since none of the other kids liked being in the swing. It's been such a blessing because he'll nap in it for hours in the morning and it gives me time to get a few things done with the kids. The other huge blessing has been having the grandmas help me, both of them have been taking Mia to different therapies and that's been huge also, not having to load up the baby and the 2 year old monkey has been really nice. Thanks Grandma Cheri and Nana! Calvin is growing up so quickly. He's adjusted really well to having a little brother, but still needs lots of attention from his mommy and daddy. I try to soak up those times because I know he won't be this little for long. :)

It's not a box...

We got this toy chest for Calvin's room and ended up with a big empty box. The kids played with it like that and I was considering tossing it when I saw some ideas on pinterest for creative box uses...so our box became an...airplane! The kids love it. Grandpapa and Asher getting some quality time... And Daddy and his babies...

5 Weeks!

I can't believe it's been five weeks since Asher arrived. He is doing really well, gaining weight like a trooper and growing out of his baby clothes like a weed. He's just so long. :) His sleep is stretching a little bit and I will usually get one 4 1/2 hour chunk of sleep each night. The kids like their little brother for the most part and they both have taken really well to holding the little guy. Mia especially likes to be the Mama...and so she in particular likes to hold Asher using my "C" pillow (the boppy pillow). Mia and Calvin have also taken to dressing up in old halloween costumes that we had, either pirates, animals or princess costumes. It would be a lot easier if they could get in and out of the costumes themselves, but they need help. Here are the cuties all dressed up.

1 Month!

Wow, has it already been 1 month? Time flies with a new baby and yet at the same time, sometimes it feels like it stands absolutely still. I think the still times are when I am constantly feeding him and I think, haven't I just done this? But it's working...the feeding...because he weighed in at 11 pounds today! So much for the rule following my c-section, "don't lift anything more than 10 pounds..." :) Asher is doing great, he's waking up more during the day so we get to see his beautiful eyes. He is still really mellow, although he is finding his voice recently and letting us know when he is not happy. Although really, he's almost always happy. He is a big little blessing. His nightly feedings are stretching a bit and he will usually give me one 4 hour stretch, that is really nice. I know I will miss it, it's just really hard to appreciate it when you are in the middle of it. Ok, maybe I won't miss the late night feedings, but I will miss this stage of being a baby, it's going very quick this time. Here are a few pictures of this little man.
