More Milestones

So, Asher can now roll from his tummy to his back.  I put him down on a blanket for some tummy time and came back to find him on his back.  I thought, hmm...was that a fluke?  So we tried it again and the kid can roll...he still can't hold his head up on his own, but he can roll from his tummy to his back.  :)  He is 11 weeks today, this is going really quick, so I'm trying to really enjoy this baby stage.  He is now 13 1/2 pounds...but I notice him stretching before my very eyes, the kid is long.  We are growing out of clothes fast...not because he's chubby (because he's rather thin, actually), but because he's so long.  That's how our babies tend to be.

Mia and Calvin are doing great, some days they play like angels and some days it is sibling rivalry to the max.  Whatever he or she has the other immediately wants.  I love how Calvin thinks that if he just says "please", that he should immediately be able to have the item of desire.  We are learning patience these days.

A Milestone

So, we've talked about changing out the doorknobs on the kids' bedrooms because they can't open them on their own...until today.  They both can now open round doorknobs.  It's a big deal because occasionally they will get stuck in a room when someone closes the door on them...not anymore.  :)

A Tender Heart

Calvin is our sweet boy, he has such a tender heart and it's adorable to watch him as he grows.  Lately he has begun to pray at our meals and at bedtime.  It usually involves thanking God for Mommy and Daddy, Asher and Mia, and then several stuffed animal friends.  But it really brought tears to my eyes when he started praying for this little boy named Caleb who is in such desperate need for a heart.  We have been praying for him as a family for some time now and I'm sure that Calvin does not understand the situation, we've never talked about it or explained it, Calvin has just picked up on the importance of praying for Caleb because we've been doing it so long.

Grass!

It took us awhile, but we finally got some green stuff in the backyard. The kids are loving it. And so are we. Before The grass has arrived. Almost done. Done!

Two Months!

It's passing so quickly! The little man is now 2 months old. He weighed in at 12 pounds 11 ounces and he's doing great. He's started cooing and occasionally giving us a laugh and a smile. Here he is...

Happy Easter

We had a great Easter with family. Mia and Calvin really enjoyed looking for Easter eggs and of course, the candy...that was so exciting for Calvin. They both are stocked up for awhile. We made "resurrection rolls" as one of our Easter activities. You take some refrigerator dough, put a marshmallow (dipped in butter, cinnamon and sugar) on it and roll it up. Then you bake it and the marshmallow "disappears" just like Jesus in the tomb. The kids thought that was great. We also made some bunny cinnamon rolls for breakfast one day and that was a hit also. It was just a nice, relaxing weekend. Last Thursday Brad took Mia to CHLA for a urology study to look at the capacity and function of her bladder. We found out that it is very small, so she urinates rather frequently. They'd like to try her on some overactive bladder medicine to see if we can increase the capacity of her bladder and the length of time she holds her urine. So we should be starting that pretty soon and we will see how she does with it.
