This past week, Calvin and I were playing when he observed my wedding ring.  He wanted to know what it was and so I was trying to explain that it was a wedding ring and that some day he would find a nice girl to marry and get his own wedding ring.  Of which he quickly responded, "but I want to marry you Mommy."  Talk about making your heart melt.  I then had to tell him that I was married to Daddy and so he couldn't marry me, which made him very sad.  What a sweet moment that I will treasure always.  I so love my sweet children and am so grateful for each of them.

All in the family...

I was looking at family pictures at my mom's house and had to take a double take on this one from when I was a little baby.

If you took away my pigtails, you might mistake me for this guy...

A slight family resemblance...

Two Steps Forward and One Step Back

That's what life feels like with a baby.  We had just gotten our sleep down, when I mentioned it in my last post and then guess what...yup, you got it...I've got a baby waking in the middle of the night again.  One of his top molars just started poking through yesterday, so I'm sure he's just in teething discomfort, but it is so frustrating when you feel like you are making progress and then you get a setback.  And naps...totally fell off the bandwagon with his naps...oh well, that's life with a baby.  :)

We were in LA yesterday for our yearly visit with the neurologist.  He is so pleased with how well Mia is doing and how far she has come.  We continue to share that it is all because of God.  I had an opportunity at the end to share with a room of about 8 residents that we know it is because of God that Mia has been healed.  Praise God for our miracle!

Happy Eleven Months Asher!

Somehow we have arrived to 2014!  This vacation we were all sick.  That rule about when 1 kid gets sick, everyone gets sick...well, it's true.  We are on the mend as we start the new year!  Thank you Lord!  We had a nice Christmas and celebrated Christmas with Brad's family yesterday...I think the kids actually enjoyed spreading it out and getting to open gifts over several days instead of one.  Every toy that Asher opened, Calvin immediately wanted, yet didn't want to share his own toys with Asher.

The kids have been sleeping in (I know, totally unheard of) which has been really nice for us, but I fear Monday as we will need to be up and moving to get Mia to school on time.  She will be excited to go back to school though, I know she really enjoys school.

Asher started taking steps this month.  His record has been about 5 or 6 six steps.  This is the earliest step taker we have ever had.  I love this stage, it is my favorite, when they are toddling around and wobbly on their feet.  Just such a sweet time.

Asher finally started sleeping through the night, thank you Lord!  I love that we can put him in his crib awake for all naps and nighttime and he goes to sleep with minimal fussing.  His naps have finally gotten better also, I get a decent morning and afternoon nap out of the little guy also.
