Asher had his 1 year check up today and is doing great. He weighed in at 22 1/2 pounds, is now 31 1/2 inches long and very healthy. Praise God! His doctor is very happy with his progress and we are too.
I got to get away for the weekend, my first time away from Asher ever...so Daddy held down the fort while I went away to the coast with the girls in my bible study. We had such a fun time and I was so thankful for Brad letting me get away. I was just as happy to come home...I missed my babies, of course they had so much fun with Daddy and the grandparents that they told me to go away again....hehehe :)

Happy 1st Birthday Asher!
Dear Sweet Baby Asher,
It's hard to believe that it has been 1 year! You have definitely kept Mommy and Daddy on their toes this year. What a joy you are and we love watching you grow up.
It is true that God makes each baby different, you are definitely your own, unique person. I kept wanting to compare you to Mia and Calvin, but you kept wanting to do everything differently...I finally realized I should stop comparing!
You are so much fun, you have a joyful laugh and personality. You eat everything and when I say everything, I mean everything. We've lost many nerf balls this year because we find you trying to eat them. If it fits, you will try it. I have never fished so many different items out of a baby's mouth than yours. Thankfully, that is starting to subside, but not completely yet.
You love to sleep. Thanks to Daddy, you have become a very good sleeper. You are the only baby who has been able to fall asleep on their own at such an early age, we sure hope you continue to be a good sleeper.
You love music. When we turn on any music, you get very excited and start to dance a little. It brings a smile to our faces and we just so enjoy watching you find joy out of it.
You came into this world at 10 pounds 4 ounces and are probably close to 22 pounds now...we don't have an official weight on you, but you are very healthy and tall.
Some of your favorite words are: mama, ball, apple and bye. And you love to be outside. In fact, that is your favorite place to be.
We love you sweet baby, thank you for bringing us such joy!
Love Always and Forever,
Mommy, Daddy, Mia and Calvin!

One Very Hungry Caterpillar
Today we celebrated Asher's 1st Birthday. We went with The Very Hungry Caterpillar theme because, well, Asher does really like to eat. We thought that would be cute and appropriate. Pinterest gave me quite a few ideas and it turned out so cute.
I've become quite "crunchy" and would prefer less artificial colors for my kids, so I used beet juice for my red coloring and spinach for the greens. The kids gobbled it up and thought it was great.
We made a caterpillar on our wall that featured one picture of Asher from each month up until 11 months. The kids thought that was so much fun.
Getting him to take a picture with the chalkboard was virtually impossible for our wiggly little caterpillar!
The cake though, was definitely a success...I think he liked it!
Did you notice his cute vest and bowtie?! Grandma Cheri made it for him using material inspired from the book, the bowtie has caterpillars on it...so cute!
